You will find many popular shops
in and around our malls and shopping centers
throughout Puerto Rico. You will find high-quality and
discounted merchandise, many from popular designer
names. All transactions are in U.S. dollars. No sales
tax is charged on merchandise, except jewelry. No duty
is placed on purchases for those visitors returning to
the U.S.
Bus and car service is available
in most metropolitan areas. Taxis or car rentals are
recommended if you're planning on traveling outside of
San Juan. Parking lots are available at and around
major shopping events.
Most of Puerto Rico's shopping
malls are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m.
to 9:00 p.m., and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Most local shops are open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
Monday through Saturday. If you have a store in
mind, you may want to call first to confirm their
operating hours.
